About Us

Our Story

Suede Master was started in the basement of Scarboro Cleaners in 1967 and rapidly became successful as a wholesale suede and leather cleaner for dry cleaners who did not have the specialized equipment to clean suede and leather properly.

Due to this success in 1969, Suede Master was forced to expand to a 5,500 sq. ft. plant in the east end of Toronto. In 1975, the Maxwell Family purchased Suede Master and expanded its wholesale routes to service all dry cleaners throughout southern Ontario, eventually expanding into New York State. In 1996, Suede Master moved all operations to a state-of-the-art 13,500 sq. ft. production facility in central Toronto, the present-day location.

By 2010,  there were only three other comparable suede and leather cleaners across Canada and as a result, Suede Master gained a whole new customer base sending garments by mail and courier services, from across Canada.

Our Impact

The Environment

Starting 2021, we committed 100% of our dry cleaning process to using GreenEarth solvent. It’s safer for our environment, our customers, our employees and the garments we clean. Today we are Toronto’s most environmentally friendly dry cleaner.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We are proudly majority woman owned and operated, and our core values are firmly rooted in ensuring our diverse employee base thrives in an environment of equity and inclusion.

Our community

At Suede Master, we believe that we are only as strong as the communities we serve. We work tirelessly to service the customers of all sizes, be they your local, family-run dry cleaner or a large commercial dry cleaning chain.
