Yes. Down-filled luxury coats like Canada Goose, Mackage, and Moose Knuckles require specialized cleaning to prevent clumping, loft loss, and shell damage. Suede Master has cleaned these brands since 1966 and uses methods appropriate to each coat’s construction and fill type. Machine washing at home is one of the most common ways these coats get permanently damaged.
Fur trim, whether real or faux, can’t go through standard dry cleaning without risking matting, brittleness, or shedding. We assess the fur separately from the shell and treat each accordingly. If the fur collar is detachable, it’s cleaned independently; if it’s sewn in, we use targeted methods that protect it throughout the process.
In many cases, yes. We offer colour restoration and re-dyeing for coats that have faded from sun exposure, salt stains, or wear. This is particularly common with black wool coats and darker-coloured outerwear. During the assessment process, we’ll let you know whether restoration is possible and what the result is likely to look like.
It depends on the type of failure. If the slider has come off track or the pull has broken, that’s often a simple fix. If teeth are missing or the zipper tape has separated from the coat, a full zipper replacement may be needed, but that’s still far more cost-effective than replacing the coat. We handle zipper repair and full replacement in-house.
If the lining has a small tear or a seam has separated, it can usually be repaired. If the lining is shredding throughout, which is common in older down coats and wool overcoats, a full lining replacement is the cleaner solution. We do both repairs and full lining replacements in-house, and we can match lining fabrics closely to the original.
Standard dry cleaning solvents can strip the natural oils from leather, causing it to dry out, crack, or lose its finish over time. Leather jackets need to be cleaned with leather-specific conditioners and processes, not conventional dry cleaning. We treat leather jackets as a separate category with appropriate methods to clean, condition, and protect the hide.
Yes, we offer coat storage from April through September. Rather than cramming your winter coats into a closet where they can get crushed, mildewed, or dusty, we clean them first and store them properly until you need them again in the fall. Pickup is free throughout Southern Ontario.
Standard turnaround is within 7 days of pickup. If you need your coat back sooner, rush service is available in select cities with a 2–3 day turnaround. We offer free weekly pickup and delivery across Southern Ontario (London to Ottawa), or you can drop off at our locations in Etobicoke or North York.
